چکیده

The increase in water demand regions with limited good-quality resources makes it necessary to study the effect of low-quality on plant metabolism. Therefore, objective this was evaluate and salt stress levels mineral elements accumulation toxic Na+ Cl− leaves their consequences production variables sorghum cultivar IPA SF-15. design adopted randomized blocks a factorial scheme (4 × 4), four concentrations (1.5; 3.0; 4.5, 6.0 dS m−1) irrigation depths (51.3; 70.6; 90.0, 118.4% crop evapotranspiration ETc) three repetitions. To obtain nutrient, sodium, chlorine contents leaf, we collected diagnosis leaf from six plants per plot. For data, performed two harvests at 76 95 days after planting (silage point for sucrose extraction). We evaluated dry mass, fresh mass yield, total cutting periods applied F-test 5% significance level. There an but not saline, making possible use saline irrigation. As toxicity ions, showed tolerance behavior ions. grain filling phase more sensitive than final cycle.

Evaluation of the SALTMED model for sorghum under saline conditions in an arid region

SALTMED model has been developed to predict yield, soil salinity and watercontent under saline conditions. A two year field experiment was carried out during2012-13 to calibrate and validate the model for sorghum. Plants were irrigated withsalinity levels of 2, 6, 10 and 14 dS m-1. Results showed that there were significantdifferences between the observed and simulated sorghum dry matter (SDM) ...

Photosynthetic capacity and water use efficiency in Ricinus communis (L.) under drought stress in semi-humid and semi-arid areas.

Castor bean is one of the crops with potential to provide raw material for production of oils for biodiesel. This species possess adaptive mechanisms for maintaining the water status when subjected to drought stress. A better understanding these mechanisms under field conditions can unravel the survival strategies used by this species. This study aimed to compare the physiological adaptations o...

Groundwater level fluctuation forecasting Using Artificial Neural Network in Arid and Semi-Arid Environment

In arid and semi-arid environments, groundwater plays a significant role in the ecosystem. In the last decades, groundwater levels have decreased due to the increasing demand for water, weak irrigation management and soil damage. For the effective management of groundwater, it is important to model and predict fluctuations in groundwater levels. In this study, groundwater table in Kashan plain ...

Runoff and sediment yield modeling using WEPP in a semi-arid environment (Case study: Orazan Watershed)

Water erosion is a major environmental problem in many parts of the world. Majority of semi-arid countries are concerned because of their specific climate and soils sensitivity, but also because of the recent intensification of human activities and agricultural practices. Accurate estimation of water erosion for various land-use and climate scenarios is so an important key to define sustainable...
